Here's A New Name For You

No one (well, maybe Granny!) may have heard of Lithuanian sprinter Tomas Vaitkus (Ag2r) until Monday, when he won the 9th stage of the Giro d'Italia in a photo-finish bunch sprint in the Adriatic coastal town of Termoli.

Vaitkus just beat out Olympic champion Paolo Bettini of Quick Step. In fact, Bettini briefly thought he'd won, lifting his arms in the air in triumph. Ivan Basso (CSC) finished in the main field to easily hold on to the overall race leader's pink jersey.
