'Well, What IS This Tour de France?"

Hey, wasn't this the day and the stage that was supposed to sort out this Tour de France?

(And don't you just love it when Phil Liggett asks that question?!)

((And by the way, this happens to be the 200th entry we've cranked out since this blog debuted in late March when My Guy Jan was still gunning for the Tour.))

(((And isn't it just deliciously ironic that after all the controversy surrounding Our Boy Lance and the drug culture, it's everybody and anybody else who's tainted?)))

But I digress ...

Who would have thought that Bobby Julich would go sliding out (see photo) of another TdF time trial seven years later?

Who would have thought that Levi Leipheimer would finish 96th, five minutes behind (and can anybody pronounce) Sergei (or is it Serhiy?) Gonchar of T-Mobile? VeloNews spells it Gochar AND Honchar on its site today, by the way.

And what's with T-Mobile after stage wins by Gonchar and Matthias Kessler? "It's lucky Jan Ullrich is not here, otherwise the Tour would be over," Discovery Channel team manager Johan Bruyneel told Reuters.

George Hincapie
finished ... what ... 24th?

After one more day of Robbie McEwen Sunday, it will be more than time to head for the hills -- or, in this case, the Pyrennes.

Oh -- and WHAT is with those adds on OLN? Male size enhancement? Income tax fines? Hey, I know you gotta make a buck, but next thing you know, they'll be advertising for EPO.
