Slipstream Kiwi

New Zealand's Julian Dean (currently of Credit Argricole) is the latest Jonathan Vaughters signing. Dean joins David Millar, Christian Vande Velde, David Zabriskie, and a yet unnamed former Paris-Roubaix winner on the 2008 Slipstream/Chipotle team.

The current New Zealand National Road Champion served as Thor Hushovd's lead out man during this year's Tour. Dean's best season to date was in 2003. Riding for Team CSC, he finished second on the team to Tyler Hamilton in UCI points gained despite being the team's winningest rider that season.

He began his professional career in 1996 for Shaklee, and has ridden for Mercury (1998), US Postal (1999-2001), CSC-Tiscali (2002), CSC (2003), and Credit Agricole (2004 to present).

It'll be interesting to see how the kiwi all-black mates with the Slipstream argyle in what Scotman David Millar's sister proclaimed as "fantastic concept, horrific realization."
