It happened again. First at the 2007 Tour of Georgia and then at the Inaugural Tour of Ireland, a break succeeded in not only winning a stage, but possibly the entire stage race.
The fortunate recepient of the lack of an organized chase was Discovery Channel's George Hincapie, who won the 202km Stage 2 from Clinton to Springfield. The break that at one point had a 17 minute advantage ended up putting a 14 minute gap on the main field. With tomorrow's 29km ITT in Branson, Hincapie [the best time trialist in the top 10] should capture this inaugural race's title [barring near catastrophic events].
