This really isn't going out on a limb, but get used to the image below. Ivan Basso is the prohibitive favorite to win the Giro d'Italia, barring any physical issues (like the stomach ailment which plagued him at the 2005 Giro). What about Cunego, Salvodelli, Simoni, Cioni, Di Luca, etc? With all due respect for the other contenders, the Armstrong/Postal/Discovery rule applies in CSC's case; the strongest rider also had the strongest team.
