There are new reports that there may have been a serious error at the French lab...how serious? They reported the wrong numbers. So these numbers, the positives, may not even be his...someone was cheating, but who? The French Conspiracy Theory against American cyclists just may have gotten a boost, as it seems the blinders may have been on at French lab.
Who do you believe...at this time, do you even care?
At least a group of people in the San Diego area still do, and right now they are the only ones that matter.

I suppose the most disturbing aspect of the entire controversy for me is that not one person is stepping out and taking the lead on the "clean campaign". Most especially LA. Why is this? The sport is clearly in perilous times. If not now, then when? Where the hell is the leadership?
Everyone including the UCI seem to be speaking from the shadows. As if "Sure it sucks but c'mon, we all know the real deal here and this too shall pass".
We need a crusade of epic proportions to restore the "beautiful sport". We need a passionate mouthpiece that will create crazy momentum. It's needs to be LA. But of course that would be hard to do if say, you're globtrotting with the frat boys and/or you may have skeletons in your own closet.
Bottom line: DNA. Amazingly the pros are claiming rights violations. What a joke. The only rights that have violated are that of the fans who wanted to believe in something special.
This is salvagable but it needs to happen quickly. Otherwise the incredible worldwide momentum LA helped to create over the last 7 years will be lost forever. And the sport will go back to comfortable space of obscurity. Especially in the US.
I to am disappointed that Lance whom has gained and lost so much from the sport refuses to lead the fight.
Perhaps he blames the media and realises that they will twist whatever he says.
The current crop can be the only leaders worth listening to , they have to step up.
On the issue of momentum and the US, whilst it may mean a slip down the ladder into increasing obscurity for US cycling, for International cycling that is not a big problem! Here In Canada they moan that the Us is losing interest in Canadas national sport of hockey. This is a benefit as the huge salaries are wrecking Canadian Hockey at the grass roots level as they try to keep up!
Perhaps what cycling needs is a hard core of professionals, denouncing drugs, competing in Europe for smaller teams and letting the money flow to the junior levels!
As A British cycling fan I have followed and supported Europeans and Americans (north and South), what do I care of the International standing of the US, the sport is CYCLING, wherever the competitors call home, and whatever the language they speak!
You obviously love the sport at all levels, take away the money and you take away the drug cheats, I will not stop competing (at a very low level) or watching the best in the world just because Floyd probably cheated, I will just wait to see if the International bodies have got the guts to stand up and fight for le tour, and if not there are many fine smaller races all over Europe , the US, and the rest of the world to watch.

Like you, I will continue to compete and enjoy the sport for sporting sake. I must however dissent on one front...how can you watch the "best" in the world when we all know it's rigged? I mean, isn't that like sitting down to eat a Filet Mignon only to inject your tounge with Novacaine just prior?

I will sit and watch what is available, and try with the help of respected observers (like phil Ligget)to decide whom is on the level. ps I am a vegeterian!~

Via my previous job as a cycling paramedic, I became a member of the International Police Mountain Bike Association.They promote everything "public safety cycling" , but like any large group have hundreds of niche cyclists.
They were formed in the states and have spread to Canada and Europe. The main benefit to me of membership is a subscription to cycling magazine. I am into green issues and encouraging people to cycle rather than drive, which seems to be catching on everywhere.
Do you know of any links , or have aexperience of the singlespeed revolution?
