Same Sport But....

For illustrative purposes I would like to share with you the same faces of agony "post sprint". Of course this is where the similarities stop. My race was 18 miles in length this Saturday past and the pro was 125. Somehow though, I seem to be in the exact same amount of pain.

That looks like a post sprint photo, cause it looks like you're already sitting up, whereas the other guy is still going hard. Otherwise, where's the form, the "throwing" of the bike, or the two hand salute. How are you still classified as a cat 5, as you've most likely exceeded the number of races required to move up your ranking to cat 4 or race in cat 4-3?

It was post sprint. That guy tried to get me on the inside but I got him at the line for 6th place. It was a Cat 5 race. 10 USCF, mass start races are required for 4. I started racing again in 03 and have only raced 10 times since with but one last year. I would like to bang out 5-7 this year. I'll look to upgrade probably next year. These 5's are faster than you think. There are a lot of people coming into the sport that are very talented and of course some that are not. Thus the higher crash propensity which sucks.

You're not taking your new baby into the cat 5 carnage zone are you 53T? I'd hate to have to read a post of how your sweet new ride got all busted up! Look out for wheel sucking PAPPA riders! There's one I'm thinking of who might just pick up a day license to give you a run before you move up. Do the initials MF sound about right?

Nice hearing from you CH! I welcome the day MF (and you for that matter) joins me in the field. After all these years training together, I can only dream of the vicious, systematic PAPPA attack we could unleash. Of course that would require MF to get over his fear of crashing. This of course, is coming from a man that ate 50+mph pucks for a career. Are you out there MF?
